Rickey Smiley Says Son Brandon Smiley Has Died At 32
Rickey Smiley is mourning the loss of his oldest son, Brandon Smiley. He was 32.
The radio show personality announced the news of his son's death in a video posted on his Instagram account on Sunday (Jan. 29) as he was going to his hometown of Birmingham, Ala.
"I'm okay," he captioned the post. "But please pray for my son's mother, Brenda, his siblings, and his daughter, Storm."
"I just had bad news this morning,” Smiley said in the video. “I just want everybody to pray for me, pray for our family.”
He continued, "Now I see what my granddaddy went through and why he felt the way he felt. My granddaddy went through this s--t with my dad, and somehow, here I am going through the same thing my grandparents went through. So just pray for our family."
The cause of Brandon's death has not yet been publicly shared. He is survived by his father, his mom Brenda, his daughter Storm, 3, brother Malik, 21, and sisters D'Essence, 25, Taylor, 22, and Aaryn, 21.
