Mariah Carey Cleared in Child Negligence Probe
Case closed. As hubby Nick Cannon expected, the Los Angeles Department of Children and Family Services has completed their investigation into accusations of negligence in the Carey-Cannon home.
As previously reported, officers interviewed Mariah Carey yesterday [May 26] after they received a call claiming that the singer was doing drugs and sipping on alcohol in the hospital.
According to TMZ, after the visit and interview, social workers concluded that the children were in a healthy and safe environment and that there was no merit to the complaint.
Cannon theorizes that someone overheard nurses suggesting that Carey drink a Guiness beer to help with lactating. He told CNN's Piers Morgan, "I don't know if someone heard that or however it took, but I guess then they were saying that my wife was drinking beer and all that stuff," said Cannon. "People will do anything to try to conjure up a story."
Carey, gave birth to twins, a girl named Monroe and a boy named Moroccan on April 30 and took them home May 14.
