Floyd Mayweather Visits Paul George in Hospital

Undefeated boxing champion lifts NBA superstar's spirits after horrific injury.

The world witnessed Paul George suffer a horrific compound leg fracture on Friday night in Las Vegas during a Team USA scrimmage.

Upon hearing the news Saturday morning, undefeated boxing champion and Sin City resident Floyd Mayweather Jr. raced to the hospital to visit his good friend George. The two even posed for this picture that each posted on their respective Instagram accounts — floydmayweather and paul_george24.

“Not one second should be taken for granted...the 'present' truly is a gift,” Mayweather wrote in a caption accompanying the post Saturday. “GOD is orchestrating all of our lives. Paul George is a phenomenal player and my friend as well. I speak with him daily, so this is very personal for me. My prayers are with him & I wish him a speedy recovery. I nicknamed him PG but on the court his game is rated R!”

The Indiana Pacers star small forward appreciated Mayweather, who is currently busy training for his September 13 rematch bout with Marcos Maidana, for taking the time out of his schedule to pay him a visit in the hospital.

“Appreciate the champ @floydmayweather visiting me in the hospital,” George wrote on his own Instagram account. “Gave me some great advice and kept my spirits high!! Appreciate you once again big bro! #TBE #TMT”

George suffered the gruesome compound leg fracture on what seemed to be a routine block attempt Friday night.

In addition to Mayweather, LeBron James also expressed sorrow for George via his own Instagram account. "Hurt my stomach the moment I heard the news! I didn't want to believe it," James wrote. "Man I need u out there bro! Get well and have a speedy recovery PG24! #DamnIt #YoungKing #StriveForGreatness."

Former University of Louisville guard Kevin Ware, who suffered his own publicized compound leg fracture during the 2013 NCAA Tournament, also spread words of encouragement toward George following the horrific injury.

"Minor setback for a major comeback PG," Ware tweeted on Friday night upon hearing the news.
