Saigon Clarifies Comments About Rick Ross, 2 Chainz
Saigon caused a stir last week when, during an interview with The Breakfast Club, he named Rick Ross and 2 Chainz as two people he would like to punch in the face. Days later however, the New York rapper has apparently thought better of the comments and walked them back on social media.
"I say them things on purpose," he wrote on his Facebook page, explaining his remarks. "If U notice I say people names at the end of the interview. In my mind Im [sic] thinking I just dropped a deep interview but I have to say some super ignorant s--t to bring people to even watch it so I said a name or 2."
In the interview, Saigon said he wanted to punch Ross and 2 Chainz for sending what he called "detrimental" messages to children in their music. Several people commented on the remarks, including Maybach Music Group rapper Gunplay, who dared Saigon to make a move.
On his Facebook page, the "Come On, Baby," rapper confessed that he bears no ill will toward either Rick Ross or 2 Chainz, but was pursuing a calculated strategy.
"I hope those 2 guys understand it was simply a strategy and not personal at all. Though I DONT agree with their content. I do not want to cause them any harm or see them harmed,” he wrote.
On Twitter, Saigon brought the point home with an analogy.
"Ol timer told me if U put a playboy cover on the Bible, more people will read it," he wrote. "Thats what I do with these interviews. Make em provacative [sic]."
