Lil Baby Arrested in Las Vegas on Alleged Gun Charge
Lil Baby has gotten himself into some legal trouble.
On Monday (Aug. 26), the Atlanta rapper, born Dominique Jones, was arrested in Las Vegas for allegedly carrying a concealed weapon without a permit.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department did not release details on what led to the arrest. However, his attorneys, Drew Findling and David Chesnoff, released a joint statement that they were “actively investigating” why the 29-year-old was arrested in the first place because he has a valid permit. “Dominique Jones has a valid Georgia Carrying a Concealed Weapon (CCW) Permit,” they said. “On his behalf, we are actively investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding his arrest in Las Vegas.”
Georgia’s Department of Public Safety states that CCW permits from the state are not recognized in Nevada. According to TMZ, Lil Baby was not formally charged with the crime, which is a felony in Nevada, and was released from custody after posting a $5,000 bond. He is due in court on Oct. 1.
According to Athlon Sports, Lil Baby was in town celebrating his friend and Los Angeles Clippers star James Harden’s birthday on Sunday (Aug. 25). Other attendees included Chris Brown, Kevin Durant, Travis Scott, and more.
