SZA has been earning accolades at an impressive pace since the launch of her sophomore album, “SOS,” late last year. This month, the TDE songstress will add yet another prestigious title to her collection as she has been named Variety's 2023 Hitmaker Of The Year.

The “Kill Bill” singer is among the first honorees for the publication’s seventh annual Hitmakers celebration, which is set to occur early next month. Other recipients include Metro Boomin, Olivia Rodrigo, Billie Eilish, and more.

Variety’s executive music editor Jem Aswad praised SZA’s award-winning album in a statement, noting, “SZA, her SOS album and tour, and her hits this year are not only a creative and commercial triumph but one with a reach that stretches far beyond the music world.

He added, “We are so proud to honor her as our Hitmaker of the Year and to honor Olivia Rodrigo, Metro Boomin, Maren Morris, and more.”

Last week, SZA was one of six figures recognized at the Wall Street Journal's 13th annual Innovator Awards at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.
