Everything Is Everything: Ms. Lauryn Hill Teases New Music on the Horizon
Ms. Lauryn Hill has been celebrating the 25th anniversary of her only solo album, “The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill," by performing at sold-out concerts on tour. Hill even made a rare appearance on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon,” and brought her son, YG Marley, to perform with her. The mother-son duo performed Lauryn’s classic hit, “Ex-Factor,” and then “Survival” and “Praise Jah in The Moonlight.”
Hill has wrapped the celebration tour, and since she’s wet the world’s palette with this tour, everyone is wondering if new music is coming. TMZ caught up with YG and Lauryn and first asked YG if his mom was going to gift the world with new music. “What about your mom’s second album?” the reporter asked.
YG covered his face, but you would still see his grin as if he had some juicy information. He paused to consider the question before saying, “I mean…music’s on the way.” The reporter asked if he was “for real this time,” and YG confirmed. And when asked if he’d be helping on the album, YG said, “We’ll see.”
Later, when Lauryn was exiting and taking photos with adoring fans, the same reporter asked her about the new music her son teased. And Lauryn nodded in approval.
While there’s no timeline for Ms. Hill's highly anticipated second album, to say the world is waiting is an understatement.
