Pharrell, Pitbull to Be Honored With Hollywood Walk of Fame Stars
Weeks after Luther Vandross was honored posthumously, Pitbull and Pharrell Williams will be the next biggest stars in music to have their names etched in Hollywood history.
“We know that the new selections represent the best of the entertainment industry and will be a great addition to the Walk of Fame for both the Hollywood community and fans from around the world who visit Hollywood every year,” said Maureen Schultz, chair of the Hollywood Walk of Fame selection committee.
Pitbull shared his excitement with fans by tweeting an image of a blank star with the caption "Excited about my new honor as a Walk of Famer for Class of 2015."
Pharrell has had a stellar year thus far. He recently performed the official World Cup song at the opening ceremony in Brazil. Skateboard P has also added major accolades to his list of accomplishments for 2014. He was nominated for an Oscar for the smash hit "Happy," he was added to the cast of The Voice as a mentor and received a key to the city for his hometown, Virginia Beach.
The list of 30 celebrities to receive stars in 2015 was announced on Thursday (June 18) and Mr. 305 and the “Happy” singer will share the honor with iconic funk-jazz band Kool & the Gang. Other big names to make the 2015 class are Will Ferrell, Seth MacFarlane, Sofía Vergara and Jenny McCarthy.
Congrats to all!
