After starting off in position 53 and 10 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 list, legendary singer Whitney Houston's single "Saving All My Love for You" reached the No. 1 spot on Oct. 26, 1985.

The song, originally performed by Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis Jr., was the second hit single on Houston's eponymous debut album. It has sold more than three million copies worldwide, from Australia to the United Kingdom.

In 1986, the song won Houston a Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance and the American Music Award for Favorite R&B/Soul Video. It also has been featured in films and television programs and was ranked the 79th greatest love song of all time by the New York Daily News.
