Drake Almost Arrested in Jamaica
Young Money artist Drake nearly added “plaintiff” to his long list of credits on Monday, when he was nearly arrested for using an offensive word on stage in Jamaica during the Brit Jam Music Festival.
Despite reportedly being warned to keep it clean before joining dancehall singer Mavado (of “I’m So Special” fame) for a special guest performance, Drizzy got a little too excited and yelled “bloodclot”—a violation of Montego Bay’s indecent language law. He quickly left the stage after his faux pas, and was issued a warning by local police.
Other performers haven’t always fared quite as well. In 2001, Snoop Dogg, Beenie Man and Ja Rule were formally charged for using profanity during the Reggae Sumfest, which is held every summer in Montego Bay.
