Ever wonder why DJ Khaled is so inspired by Caribbean vibes, culture and music? Well if we had to guess, we would say that him being in touch with the Caribbean culture came from this time period. Khaled stars in the movie as a "bodyguard" of sorts for Wyclef Jean, who appears in the film as Richie. Shottas is a Caribbean-inspired action/drama about two drug dealers who get deported from America and end up making their way back to the Miami coast to finish their dealings, which ultimately lead to more violence in the community.

While with Terror Squad Records/eOne, Khaled released four albums that all had Top 20 debuts. Khaled was even there when Fat Joe made the beat for "Lean Back" with Scott Storch, which took place in his Miami studio nicknamed "Jerusalem."

Khaled's former producer name before becoming DJ Khaled was Beat Novacane. Khaled also had a track out called "Beat Novacane" as well, which was pretty clever cross promotion.

Before Khaled got his big break, he hosted a radio show out of Miami — which he co-hosted with Uncle Luke of 2 Live Crew. Luke loved Khaled's personality and continuously went back and forth with Khaled on whether he was the best DJ. And we all know Khaled's answer: his current mantra "We the Best!"

Khaled notes that he used to fly out to Jamaica every weekend to get the latest dance crazes and cut dub beats so he could turn up the Miami radio airwaves day in and day out with new dancehall-mixed-with-hip-hop sounds! He snagged some DJ opportunities out in Jamaica as well and became well acquainted with the Marley family, who welcomed him into their home and allowed him to DJ some of their events.

In 2013, DJ Khaled hopped on MTV News with a shocking proposal to hip-hop/pop singer Nicki Minaj with a very expensive wedding ring that was said to have cost around $500,000!

Although Nicki Minaj denied the proposal, she also added:

"Khaled was not serious with that damn proposal. I was shocked just like the rest of the world and I was cracking up laughing with the rest of the world cause Khaled is a master at what he does. It was just another way for him to kinda give the world a glimpse on the feeling of this record. Nobody in my real life took it seriously. Everybody just hit me like, ‘LOL. Yo, Khaled is crazy.' Khaled is my brother and Khaled was not serious with that damn proposal, ya’ll. Please let it go. He was kidding. He’s not attracted to me, he doesn’t like me. We’re brother and sister."

In the end, we all found out that it was all part of Khaled's master plan to promote their new single called “I Wanna Be With You,” which was on his album Suffering From Success. Nicely played!

To start, Khaled's daily meals begin around 11 a.m. with his favorite request, egg whites for breakfast, which to Chef Dee is more like brunch. Khaled snaps throughout his whole day, including each of his healthy meals, only to shout out his chef for preparing it so well. Chef Dee prepares mostly gluten-free and dairy-free meals and also. at the request of Khaled, non-GMO pork- and shellfish-free dishes as well.

DJ Khaled is among the many celebrities who have donated to the AIDS charity (RED). Last year, DJ Khaled agreed to take one lucky winner with him on his Snapchat-famous jet ski rides. Who won the lucky prize you ask? Actress and comedian Amy Schumer!
