Derek Jeter Thanks His Ladies With a Basket of Signed New York Yankees Goodies
New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter has an interesting thank-you gift for the women he takes home to his posh Trump Tower pad in Manhattan.
They are greeted with a basket of signed Yankees gifts in the limo home the next morning, according to the New York Post.
Jeter has become a swinging bachelor again since his very public breakup last summer with longtime girlfriend Minka Kelly. It turns out his gift after a night at the Tower bachelor spot became public when he unwittingly gave the same woman the same gift twice.
Busted!
“This summer, he ended up hooking up with a girl who he had hooked up with once before, but Jeter seemed to have forgotten about the first time and gave her the same identical parting gift, a gift basket with a signed Derek Jeter baseball,” a pal squealed in the Post story.
The baskets usually have a signed autograph from the Yankees captain, among other signed memorabilia. That such details have come out is somewhat surprising for the reclusive All-Star shortstop, who guaranteed himself a spot in the Hall of Fame when he collected his 3000th hit in July.
“He normally doesn’t go out with girls. He will have them come to his house. He’ll have cocktail parties. His friends invite girls they think he’ll be interested in. He’s very shy,” another friend explained to the Post.
“He’ll occasionally take girls to a restaurant. He has a couple of restaurants that he goes to that aren’t trendy,” the friend said.
“He goes to Nino’s in New York. He used to go to Mustang Grill on the Upper East Side. I know he’s been dating multiple girls. He likes a hole in the wall, or he likes a place that his friends own. He’s very cautious. He’ll only go out on off-nights,” the friend said.
