Trump Spokeswoman Blames Rape Culture on 'Hip-Hop Music'
Donald Trump and his minions have been trying their best to deflect criticism off of themselves because of the GOP presidential candidate’s recent derogatory and rape-y comments about women.
Joining CNN’s Carol Costello on her program, Trump spokeswoman Katrina Pierson thought it would be a good idea to put the misogyny blame on hip-hop and Hollywood rather than address the comments her boss made.
“This rape culture is supported by none other than the entertainment industry, none other than hip-hop music that you can hear on local radio,” Pierson tried to claim. She then got clapped on by Costello, who was supposed to be a moderator for the debate between her and CNN contributory Angela Rye.
“The way that sexual assault is portrayed in some Hollywood movies is wrong, and it is, and I agree with you there,” Costello said. “But that doesn’t make what Mr. Trump said right, right? So, to me when you say these things I don’t know if you really mean them. I don’t know if you mean them or if you’re deflecting to excuse Mr. Trump’s comments, and there’s a difference.”
Ouch. Yeah, just use hip-hop and Hollywood as scapegoats. Might as well throw violent video games in there as well for good measure. SMH. Check out the full segment below.
