Cuba Gooding Jr Still Has His Breakdancing Moves
Cuba Gooding Jr still has it.
Over the weekend, rapper Flavor Flav uploaded a video clip to his Instagram account featuring the “People vs. O.J. Simpson” star displaying his top-notch b-boy moves to Rob Base’s performance of “It Takes Two” in front of a crowd of guests.
The 55-year-old delivered an impressive freestyle, showcasing various moves like the helicopter, a partial baby freeze, and a semi-back spin before wrapping up his routine to greet the veteran emcees.
In his caption, Flav wrote, “MY BOY N DA HOOD CUBA GOODING JR.!! Y’all didn’t know he could get down like that” before sharing that when he and Public Enemy co-founder Chuck D “were starting out, Cuba was a break dancer in the” as part of Lionel Richie’s closing ceremony.
In the early '80s, Gooding and his crew, known as the Majestic Visual Break Dancers, performed on the streets and in the Boys & Girls gymnasium. The connection ultimately allowed them to become the Summer Games’ official break dancers.
During an appearance on “The Graham Norton Show,” Gooding was asked if he could still get down after Snoop Dogg opened up about the hidden skill. Without hesitation, the star did a windmill move. The actor also showed off his moves in the end credits of the 2003 comedy, “The Fighting Temptations.”
