For the second time in the last three weeks, a young up-and-coming hip hop talent died from an apparent suicide when rapper-comedian Freddy E passed on Saturday. The death of the popular YouTube star was hard for many in his personal circle, but no one was more impacted by the death than his close friend Honey Cocaine.

In the hours following Freddy’s death, rumors began to circulate on Twitter that a break-up with Honey C drove the 22-year-old to take his own life. Honey, an artist signed to Tyga, was forced to defend herself from the allegations.

"To say I caused what happened is ignorance.. You know nothing about our friendship or the story, hate me if you feel.. We loved each other," she wrote on Twitter.

Now, in an exclusive interview with MTV News, Honey Cocaine further clears up the rumors about her relationship with Freddy.

"What they don't understand is that we were friends, we were just friends. Blogs are saying that I was his ex-girlfriend and he did what he did because of a failed relationship. That has nothing to do with anything. I need people to understand that it was just a friendship," Honey Cocaine told MTV News in an exclusive sit-down Tuesday. "I just want people to know that we were just friends, and we did everything for each other as friends."

Honey learned of her friend’s passing like many others, after reading the ominous tweets the Seattle native sent before his death.

"If there's a God then He's calling me back home. This barrel never felt so good next to my dome. It's cold & I'd rather die than live alone," he wrote.

Honey C, rife with emotion, explained to MTV that her friend was dealing with a lot before he died.

"I think he was just going through a lot, and that's his personal business. I'm not going to speak about what he was going through, but as his friend, I did communicate with him often," an emotional Honey Cocaine explained. "I just feel like he couldn't handle his problems anymore, and this is someone who had real, deep issues within him, and I didn't know, I guess his friends didn't know, and I guess he made himself seem happy, but he was really just holding everything inside."

Freddy will be laid to rest on Friday at the First AME Church in Seattle.
