Kevin Durant Speaks Out on His Extended Single Life
Kevin Durant was recently put in the hot seat regarding his prolonged single status despite his prominent career and success in basketball. The star has openly expressed that he is intentionally single and not seeking a relationship.
During a recent appearance on the “Impaulsive” podcast hosted by internet personalities Logan Paul and IShowSpeed, the NBA champion was questioned about why he remains single. In response, Durant said, “I don’t want a girlfriend.”
When co-host IShowSpeed suggested that Durant might have experienced heartbreak, Durant clarified his position, saying, “I wouldn't say I had my heart broken. I've started to understand women a little bit more. Early on, I realized that she’s not mine.” He further elaborated, “Even if she may be my girlfriend, she might be influenced by other people.”
The 19-year-old then attempted to offer Durant relationship advice, which Durant promptly rebuffed. “Stop talking to me like I need advice on women, bro. Every time I explain my stance to people they say some shit like that,” the star responded.
“Like ‘damn bro you just been hurt,’ but I enjoy spending time with them. It’s just maybe not as long as you like to spend time with people.”
The Phoenix Suns player once uploaded a list on his Instagram Stories sharing the reasons why he thinks he hasn’t been taken off the market yet. These included being a massive overthinker, having “so much energy,” constantly needing reassurance, and more.
Durant was last linked to former WNBA star Monica Wright. The two got engaged in 2013 but broke up shortly after.
