Amara La Negra and Princess Love Have Emotional Exchange About Navigating Single Motherhood
Amara La Negra and Princess Love, two of the stars of Love & Hip Hop: Miami, opened up about their experiences as single mothers during the October 2 episode of the show.
La Negra emotionally spoke to Love about Allan Mueses, the father of her twins, and their communication and whether he had reached out or tried to spend time with their daughters.
“For Christmas, I thought he would call. On New Year’s or their birthday.” Holding back tears, she continued, “I just hate that I feel like he doesn’t want my girls. And I know how it feels.”
The 31-year-old singer and reality star welcomed her twins, Sumajestad Royalty and Sualteza Empress, with Mueses on March 23, delivered via a C-section. She shared on Instagram the challenges she faced as a new mother.
La Negra and Love also spoke about not having a relationship with their fathers. Love, who shares two children with Ray J, tried to reassure her friend that their father would eventually feel remorse for being absent.
In a shocking confession, the Afro-Latin celebrity tearfully confessed that, despite her love for her children, she also loved the father of her babies. In a touching moment, Love embraced La Negra, gently cradling her face, and offered words of encouragement.
Earlier this year, La Negra told Parents Magazine that she struggled with what it would look like to be a single mom. “I think there was a part of me that was a little bit embarrassed to say that I am a single mother, not necessarily by choice. I thought that I had chosen the right partner to make that happen, but it wasn’t like that,” the star said.
She said, “So, I don’t have another option. But that’s OK. I’m a mother, my children are within me and I have to take that responsibility and be that mother figure/father figure for my girls.”
