Tank Declares Chris Brown Has Surpassed Michael Jackson, Social Media Reacts

Whew.

Comparing anyone to Michael Jackson is a bold move, but Tank takes it even further by claiming that Chris Brown has surpassed the late legend.

During his appearance on Stephen A. Smith's The Stephen A. Smith Show, the R&B crooner and the outspoken commentator found themselves in discussion comparing Jackson and Brown. It was then that the ‘When We’ singer firmly stated his stance, boldly declaring that Brown is better than Jackson.

The ‘Dirty’ singer drew an analogy, saying, "If there was Magic Johnson, now there's LeBron James. That's the ultimate evolution of a man who can play all five positions."

He further clarified his statement: "When we talk about Chris Brown, we're talking about the evolution of Michael Jackson, Usher, Ginuwine, and even myself."

Smith seemingly disagreed with the 48-year-old.

“Come on man,” he began.

“When I saw Chris Brown perform, he’s the best in the world. He’s one of one. I’m just challenging the next level because I didn’t know there was a next level after Michael Jackson.”

Social media, of course, chimed in on the conversation.

You know who wouldn’t agree with this statement?

Breezy himself.

In an interview with Big Boy back in 2022, the ‘She Ain’t You’ singer and the radio host addressed those who claimed that Brown was better than Jackson. Brown responded by saying that’s “cap.”

“I stay the hell up out of it… I kind of back off it,” he said.

“My personal take on it is I wouldn’t even be breathing or even being able to sing a song if that man didn’t exist. So I don’t know if they look at it as the Jordan/Kobe thing but I can’t even look at it — [Jackson’s] light years ahead. There is no competing with him. Hell no. I got shrines of this man hanging up in my house. Hell naw, I ain’t better than Michael Jackson.”

Do you agree with Tank or do you agree with Breezy?
