LeVar Burton Lands Role In ‘Blindspotting’ Season Two
Reading Rainbow’s LeVar Burton continues to stay booked and busy as he recently landed a role on the STARZ original series Blindspotting for its second season, according to The Wrap.
No details on the role, however, he will join the upcoming season along with Katlynn Simone Smith, Tamera Tomakili, and Tim Chantarangsu with rappers E-40, P-Lo and Too $hort guest-starring as themselves.
The series is a continuation of the 2018 film of the same name, in which the show discusses incarceration, the criminal justice system, and the various aftermaths.
Burton will also appear in the third and final season of Star Trek: Picard reprising his role as Geordi La Forge.
“I remember watching the premiere of Star Trek: The Next Generation almost 34 years ago with my father like it was yesterday,” said Terry Matalas, season three showrunner and executive producer.
“It was the spark that ignited my love for science fiction,” said Terry Matalas, season three showrunner and executive producer. “So, it’s most fitting that the story of Jean-Luc Picard ends honoring the beginning, with his dearest and most loyal friends from the U.S.S. Enterprise. It would be an understatement to say that giving these characters a proper send-off is an honor. The entire Star Trek: Picard team and I can’t wait for fans to experience this final, high-stakes, starship-bound adventure in season three!”
