Meek Mill Calls Nicki Minaj His 'Baby'
Meek Mill has strong feelings for Nicki Minaj, and he has no problem admitting it on the record. The 27-year-old rapper talks about the woman he “always wanted” in the new issue of XXL. “Yeah that’s my baby right there,” he told the magazine. “S**t real.”
According to Meek, Minaj was an anchor for him behind bars. The 32-year-old was one of a short list of people he’d reach out to (along with Rick Ross, Birdman and Jeezy) during his five-month jail stint.
Though it’s not clear when “Omeeka” became an actual couple, they’ve been virtually inseparable over the last several months. Minaj has even been opening him up to new behaviors, like holding hands, and snuggling up for the 'Gram.
“She know that. Like, I don’t really do things, but certain people make you do certain little stuff and it be like, ’S***t, I don’t care.’ They can catch me in the pictures doing anything nowadays, holding an umbrella for Nicki, you know what I’m saying?"
Meek goes on to explain what it’s like to date a fellow rapper, and whether or not there’s any healthy competition.“Yeah, if we rapping on a song together, s**t, Nicki gotta get it too,” said Meek. “Or she might give it to me, you know how it go, everybody on the menu. Ain’t no stopping.”
That doesn't mean things don't get contentious sometimes. “We be sitting there talking about that sometimes. And we be having conversations sometimes like, ‘That flow? Yeah, I got that flow from you,’ or, ‘You got that flow from me.’ We argue and s**t like that all the time.”
