Watch: Shaq Just Dragged James Harden With This Shady Honor
Oh, this is the kind of honor that you don't want to receive.
Shaquille O'Neal awarded James Harden with his dubious 2016 Shaqtin' a Fool MVP on Tuesday's episode of the NBA TV show.
There's no arguing that Harden is an elite scorer, having averaged 29 points per game — only second to back-to-back MVP Stephen Curry's 30.1 ppg this season.
But it's painfully obvious to even the most casual hoop fans that Harden plays absolutely no defense. Like...he doesn't even try during many sequences.
And that's what The Diesel was pointing out, showing a season's worth of defensive lowlights from The Beard which were downright embarrassing. Play after play during the lowlight reel shows Harden letting ballers breeze right by him without doing anything to stop them. During one of the plays, an announcer even comments that it's "one on nobody" because Harden "doesn't guard his shadow." Oof!
After watching this, the Beard is definitely worthy of the 2016 Shaqtin' a Fool MVP. But you be the judge.
Somewhere you already know that Lil B, with his continued "Based God's Curse" slapped on Harden, is taking credit for this.
Damn, James. If you were half the player on defense that you are on offense, you'd be that much closer to being a complete player.
Until then, you're the Shaqtin' a Fool MVP. Congrats on that.
