‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ Alum Widow Von’Du Arrested for Alleged Domestic Violence
Widow Von’Du, a former contestant on RuPaul’s Drag Race, was reportedly arrested on Monday (May 31) on domestic violence charges.
People reports that Von’Du, whose legal name is Ray Fry, was taken into custody by the Kansas City Police Department. Officers responded to a call around 6 PM on Saturday (May 29) and reportedly “contacted the victim who reported the assault.”
A probable cause affidavit obtained by TMZ claims that on Friday (May 28), Fry arrived at her house in an intoxicated state of mind and was allegedly mad at her boyfriend for sleeping at her residence. The outlet reports that the alleged victim was dragged across the floor and pushed into a bed frame, where he later became unconscious. He was also reportedly punched in the face several times and strangled, according to TMZ.
Court records show that she was charged with one count of domestic assault in the first degree and three counts of domestic assault in the second degree. On Tuesday (June 1), Fry was released from jail after posting $5,000 of her $50,000 bond.
She is due to appear in court on Monday (June 7). Court records also note that Fry is on house arrest and cannot contact any witnesses or the alleged victim.
A spokesperson for the Kansas City Police Department reports that an investigation is ongoing.
Von’Du was a part of season 12 of Drag Race and placed 7th.
