‘Playboy’ to Return In Print With Lori Harvey As Cover Model
Making their “Playboy” debut as cover girl is none other than social media phenom Lori Harvey.
The 28-year-old influencer, model and entrepreneur will star on the upcoming “Playboy” front cover, reportedly set to debut on February 10, following a launch event during Super Bowl Weekend in New Orleans. The issue will also serve as the men’s lifestyle publication’s first in five years. Also appearing in the issue is the soon-to-be-revealed 2025 Playmate of the Year in addition to comedian Nikki Glaser, who hosted the 2025 Golden Globes earlier this month.
While Harvey has been a past cover star for the likes of “Wonderland” and “Essence,” the past year was huge for the daughter of Marjorie Harvey and stepdaughter of Steve Harvey. The SKN by LH owner made her acting debut on Peacock comedy-drama “Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist,” launched her first Erewhon smoothie and was a “Stylecaster” cover star, speaking to the magazine about the importance of size inclusivity as a model.
“I absolutely felt pressure to be a certain size, especially when I first started," she told the publication. “When you're backstage and they're fitting you, everything is sample size. You're expected to be very, very tall and very, very thin.”
She continued, “l’l be honest, I definitely was self-conscious about it when I first started, because I'm not a traditional model. When it came to developing my brands, I was like, ‘OK, inclusivity is number one on my list.’”
Founded in December 1953, Playboy closed its print operations in 2020 due to recent difficulties, namely the 2017 death of magazine founder, Hugh Hefner, and the general downturn of the print industry. A return to print was announced last August.
“Playboy is the quintessential iconic brand, and it has always been more than a magazine – it is the original creator business that has launched hundreds of careers over the past seventy years,” stated Ben Kohn, Chief Executive Officer of PLBY Group, in an August press release.
“Our mission is to return Playboy to prominence, and our Playboy Club creators will be integral to that effort. We are partnering with them to develop content across all channels, including web, social, commerce, events and the print magazine. The decision to reintroduce Playboy magazine reflects the Company's commitment to adapting to the evolving media landscape while preserving the brand's rich heritage, including the high-quality journalism, compelling storytelling, and provocative content that has defined Playboy for decades.”
