Glory Johnson to Brittney Griner: We're Both Responsible
Brittney Griner's request to annul her marriage to fellow WNBA player Glory Johnson was recently denied in court, and in no time, a pregnant Johnson took a shot at her soon-to-be ex-wife. The Tulsa Shock star shared a photo on Instagram with a quote that read, "Lying is done with words and also with silence."
The couple's marriage was short-lived, lasting just 28 days. Griner ended it just one day after Johnson, 24, announced that she was pregnant.
According to People, Griner said in a statement the week before their ceremony that she "attempted to postpone the wedding several times." She continued that after agreeing to go through with the nuptials, she realized that it "was a mistake."
Griner also alleges in court documents that Johnson remained in contact with her ex-boyfriend during the course of their relationship and "intentionally concealed her sexual relations with a man to whom she was simultaneously in a relationship from 2013 to July 2014," while she and Griner were dating.
After it was announced that Griner's request for an annulment was shot down in court, a source close to Johnson told People, "It's Brittney's responsibility to provide for the two of them." Speaking directly on the decision, Johnson said that she was "thankful the annulment was rejected because an act of marriage did occur." "Together we made life changing decisions which impacted our lives collectively, and we both should be held responsible for those decisions," she added.
