Steve Stephen's Ex-Girlfriend Speaks Out for the First Time and Says 'I'm So Sorry All of This Has Happened'
After the tragic shooting of 74-year-old Robert Godwin, Cleveland police, the FBI and authorities in four other states have been on the hunt for 37-year-old Steve Stephens. Before posting a video of the killing, Stevens ranted about how his ex-girlfriend Joy Lane is to blame for his actions.
Stephens' video alleged Lane did not call him, which sent him over the edge into a fit of rage. After the killing of Godwin, Lane kept silent and away from press.
However, she recently spoke out and sent a text message to CBS News about the killing and how she's feeling.
From CBS News
"We had been in a relationship for several years. I am sorry that all of this has happened. My heart & prayers goes out to the family members of the victim(s). Steve really is a nice guy... he is generous with everyone he knows. He was kind and loving to me and my children. This is a very difficult time for me and my family Please respect our privacy at this time."
People on Twitter have stood up for Lane and asked that no one blame her
