Damon Dash to Launch Streaming Service
Damon Dash is taking a cue out of his former business partner Jay Z's book as he is gearing up to launch his very own streaming subscription service, but unlike Hov's, it won't be limited to just music.
According to Slant, Dash wants to make all of his own original content accessible to his fans with the launch of an on-demand streaming website similar in design and function to Netflix. It will be made accessible through his website DameDashStudios.com.
"I have devoted my life to providing an authentic experience to pop culture without compromise," the Roc-A-Fella co-founder said. "Now my music, movies, documentaries and self-help training videos and books will be aggregated at a single, easy to access distribution point going live on Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2015."
Those interested will have two subscription choices: annually ($49.99/year) or monthly ($9.99/month). Customers who pre-order before the launch get half off their first year of service.
Dash is currently in Wilmington, NC, producing and directing Mafietta, a television series based on E.W. Brooks' novellas. The cast for the new series will include London Charles, who rose to fame as Deelishis on VH1's Flavor of Love 2.
