Candace Owens Explained Why She Married A 'Brilliant' White Man
Controversial talking head Candace Owens joined Charlamagne tha God, DJ Envy and Jess Hilarious on 105.1’s The Breakfast Club where they discussed Black America, Donald Trump, TI, her white husband and more. Ever the believer in conversation over confrontation, The Breakfast Club hosts allowed Owens’ typical diatribes at length for the in-depth conversation into the crevices of her opinions.
“I'm a very curious, interested person,” Owens shared of her often challenged intellect. The stuff that I talk about is always based on my experiences, so it’s just crazy to see how it gets manipulated in the press.”
Their questions ranged from the political to the personal, and when they asked Owens about her marriage to a white man, she had a few interesting thoughts to share. Owen said, “I think it’s the greatest thing ever when people come together on the basis of who they love and get married. I never thought of my husband as a race. I married the person it made the most sense for me to marry.”
Owens talks about how brilliant her mind is, and she needed a partner who can handle that. “I have a mind that is just…if you even knew half the things I’m thinking about, the stuff that I’m reading, just go go go all the time, it was difficult for me to find a partner that was a challenge to me… the challenge that I needed, whether you want to say an academic challenge or whatever it is…with my same interests, it just was.”
She continued, “People tend to marry their IQ. I fell in love with my husband just because I think he’s one of the most brilliant people ever.” Owens said there was no other person she could have married because her husband can effortlessly dive into any subject.
Owens determined, “I want every person to never allow race to be a barrier to you finding love.” Contrary to popular belief, she’s dated Black men before. She shared, “The media tries to portray me as somebody who only liked white guys. Actually, if you want to be honest, I started off with a really strong Asian kick in my life. I thought I was going to marry an Asian man. My first boyfriend was Japanese and my second was Korean. I just really loved Asian men.”
Interesting.
