Fandor Launches Spotlight on Black Cinema
In celebration of Black History Month, streaming service Fandor has curated a selection of high-quality films and documentaries about the African-American experience. These works are not the first titles that come to mind when thinking of Black cinema, but are powerful films nonetheless.
The selection includes titles like Blaxploitation classic Ganja and Hess, Sundance winners Ballast and Memphis, civil rights drama Brother Outsider, documentaries on everything from racial inequality to Ralph Ellison, and even a precursor to last year's Oscar winner 12 Years a Slave called Solomon Northup's Odyssey.
The thoughtfully curated collection includes detailed synopses, credits, still images and posters on top of Fandor's streamlined design and high-resolution video stream.
If you're in the mood to explore, Fandor has thousands of films from across the globe, often titles that you won't see on Netflix, Hulu Plus or other streaming services. The site is a goldmine for film buffs.
