Meagan Good Reflects On Personal “Transitions” Amid DeVon Franklin Divorce News
Meagan Good took a moment to reflect on recent life transitions following the news of her divorce from her husband of nine years, DeVon Franklin.
While appearing on The Real on Wednesday (Jan. 5) the Harlem actress did not get into the specifics of her previous relationship but she shared how her personal and professional transformations have been going for her.
“It's been amazing, so many transitions. Projects that I prayed for, just health transitions, just taking a moment to really take everything in and get myself, my spirit, my soul ready for 40,” Good said. “It's been a whirlwind with the show and the movies. It's crazy. It's a blessing.”
According to E! News, the couple has been separated since Aug. 21, 2021. Franklin filed for divorce from Good on Dec. 20, citing irreconcilable differences.
They have no children together.
The couple met on the set of Jumping the Broom and were engaged in May 2012 and married in June 2012.
An official statement obtained by PEOPLE first announced the news of their divorce.
“After much prayer and consideration, we have decided to go into our futures separately but forever connected,” it read. “We celebrate almost a decade of marriage together and a love that is eternal. There's no one at fault, we believe this is the next best chapter in the evolution of our love.”
On Jan. 1, 2021, Franklin shared an emotional photo of himself on Instagram he reflected on the “deep pain and peace” he’s felt over the past year and says 2022 brings with it a “happy true year” rather than a happy new one.
