Wait, Will This Be Cardi B's Next Single?

It's sounding like we have a "Bodak Yellow" runner up on our hands.

Cardi B is still reveling in the glory of her breakout smash “Bodak Yellow,” which crowned her with a chart-busting Billboard Hot 100 spot and record-breaking status in the femcee circle.

For the Bronx-bred artist, it’s looking like things are only up from here. And if you thought she was stopping there, the preview of a possible new track she’s been throwing bars on shows that you're terribly mistaken.

Recorded by the social media sensation herself, Cardi hopped on Instagram Live to spit a verse from a never-before-heard track that, according to the comments, fans are hoping to hear soon. Her lyricism this time branch off from the bass-bumping, infectious tone of “Bodak Yellow” as Cardi pedals back to her pre-Bardi Gang life.

“Used to dance at a club right across from my school," she raps. "I said dance, not f**k, don’t get it confused/Had to set the record straight, 'cause b*****s love to assume/Mama couldn’t give it to me, had to get it at Sue’s/Lord only knows how I plotted in Sue’s/I was covered in dollars, now I'm dripping in jewels/A b***h play with my money, might as well spit in my food."

The passion of her new lyrics matched with the soft tempo backing the words might make for a more revelatory track that gives us new perspective into the bubbly, brassy Bronx persona we’ve come to love from Cardi. There’s no confirmation from her on what she plans to do with the verse (or possible freestyle) nor when we’ll get the full song. But judging by how well she’s putting these bars together, we’re excited to see what she’s got for the Bardi Gang next.

Check out what may come from Cardi’s budding discography in the clip below.
