Shar Jackson: “I’m in Such a Positive Place”
A year after sweating off 18 pounds on Celebrity Fit Club: Boot Camp, Shar Jackson is still looking good. “I’m trying to be sexy, trying to make it happen,” she said when BET.com caught up with her on the red carpet at the Silver Jeans launch at the M. Fredric boutique. “I’m so happy with where my life is right now. I’m in such a positive place. My mom almost passed away last year, but she’s here and she’s strong. When I was carrying that weight it came with emotional baggage, and I released it all. I left it all there at Fit Club.”
Jackson arrived at the event with her daughter Cassie and her band, MP2, which Jackson manages. "I can make sure no one hurts or takes advantage of her and the girls. And I’m having a blast,” she said of her work with the band. “We work out together every day. They’re keeping me young.”
At the same time, she’s working on music for an album of her own, “and I’m behind the camera on a few things, producing a few projects," Jackson added. "One is a reality show based on my daughter’s group.” She’d also like to do another sitcom, and is shopping a series that would be a scripted version of her life. “The whole family’s involved in that one.”
Meanwhile, she’s eager to show off her slimmer, sexy body in a provocative photo spread. “Maybe something like Maxim can lead to other things,” she mused. “Just putting it out there to the universe.”
