First, Joyner Lucas stirred the pot with his controversial video for “I’m Not Racist.” And now, he’s coming for some of your favorite rappers. In a new interview with Ebro in the Morning, Lucas blasted Lil Wayne and Future for creating music that promotes drug abuse.

During the discussion, the early morning crew asked the rapper to comment on his recent remix of Lil Pump’s “Gucci Gang” single, where many thought he dissed the Miami rapper. Joyner set the record straight, reiterating that Pump’s name-drop on the track was not a diss, but more of him paying homage. Nevertheless, Joyner provided his thoughts on the type of music that Pump and others like him make.

"I've never been into artists promoting drugs," Lucas states. "When you say those things, you telling the listener to go do the s**t.” 

The rapper then proceeded by calling out Weezy and Future for normalizing pill-popping and other illegal substances. “At the end of the day, I don't promote any artist, I don't care who the f**k...Wayne...it don't matter who you are,” he added. “Any time I hear an artist promoting drugs...even Future with 'Percocet, molly, Percocet,' I don't like that s**t.” Lucas was referring to Future’s most popular hit this year, “Mask Off.”

Joyner admitted to previously working with artists who promote drug use in the past, but he is taking the steps he deems necessary to right those wrongs. In fact, he dished that he’s even taken some of those “druggie” rappers off of his records.

Joyner isn’t the only artist to express his concern about promoting drug use in music. Vic Mensa and Wiz Khalifa, as well as many others, have also suggested that type of music is no longer cool or should be accepted.
