Dion Waiters had a good feeling that LeBron James would be returning home to the Cleveland Cavaliers before he made his official announcement.

In an interview with SLAM, the Cavs shooting guard recalled King James calling him days before his Decision 2.0. 

“He called me and just told me to be ready. Be ready,” Waiters said. “I talked to him four or five days before he made his decision. He just got on the phone and said I haven’t made my mind up yet but be ready. I told him that I’m already working hard. I’ll be ready. And he said, I know, I know you are. Then a few days later I read the [decision] letter. I was just really excited for the city of Cleveland. I think the city, more than anybody, deserves this. They deserve to have LeBron coming back. I think the excitement is really back in Cleveland and I’m looking forward to being a part of that.”

What's more exciting is that the Cavs are shaping up to be instant title contenders this season. Since acquiring James last month, Cleveland has added veteran marksmen Mike Miller and James Jones, who are also former Miami Heat teammates of King James. In addition, there are reports that veteran power forward Shawn Marion is leaning toward signing with Cleveland.

Above all, on Thursday news broke that Cleveland has reached an agreement in principle to land Minnesota Timberwolves All-Star power forward Kevin Love in a trade for top draft pick Andrew Wiggins, 2013 No. 1 pick Anthony Bennett, and a future first-round pick. In addition, the same report indicates that the Cavs and Love have agreed to a five-year, $120 million extension, which would be signed next off-season once Love completes the upcoming 2014-15 season in Cleveland.

If all pans out as reported, Cleveland would have a new Big Three of James, Kyrie Irving and Love to go alongside a talented supporting cast including Tristan Thompson (11.7 and 9.2 rebounds per game last season) and Waiters (15.9 points per game).
