"If CupcakKe were a white woman, this convo would look different."

Jameela Jamil has built a reputation for unapologetically sharing her opinions on social media. However, her latest rant involving rapper CupcakKe has made her enemy No. 1 on Twitter.

CupcakKe took to Twitter on Saturday (November 16) to debut a new look to her followers. In the caption, she explained that she had done a water fast over the past month and it led to a leaner figure.

"Water fast for past month & here's my results," she wrote.

Take a look at the photos below:

  • While the "Duck Duck Goose" rapper received mixed reactions from her followers, one of the most outstanding and viral came from The Good Place actress Jameela Jamil, who condemned CupcakKe's methods of shedding the weight.

"Please take this down," Jamil, a well-known body positivity activist, replied. "Most people reading this may not have the medical supervision or extensive knowledge needed to even TRY to attempt this safely. The dangers are immense, and it will harm your metabolism, so isn't even an effective tool for weight loss. It's just very unsafe."

In another tweet, the English actress, who often calls out celebrities who promote unhealthy methods of weight loss, urged the rapper to remember her influence and to "try to be very careful" with what she promotes to her fans.

  • Her words were met with immediate criticism from those who felt she had no right to dictate how CupcakKe should go about her personal weight loss journey.

One Twitter user suggested that she DM the rapper instead of making her thoughts on the matter so public, in a tone that could be considered humiliating for the "Squidward Nose" femcee.

"I think this is something that could have been said to her via DM," the user wrote. "It seems like she's gone through a lot these past few months w/ her mental health & idk that putting her on blast is the best idea."

This user is referencing CupcakKe's recent cries for help, which eventually led to her announcing her retirement from music.

  • Another Twitter user added to the conversation by sharing some light on eating disorders by explaining that they are not "one size fits all." She further specified that they "look different on Black women and the conversation is wildly different" when race is introduced.

"Add this to the fact that larger American society likes to shame and PUNISH us for our bodies on one side of their mouth and covet them and steal the blueprints to them on the other side," @IWriteAllDay_ continued. "If you are not a Black woman, you have no place in a conversation about BW & the adversarial relationship we are taught to have with our bodies from nigh-infancy only to have it exploited and spit back at us later in life."

After thoroughly explaining why race should be heavily considered when these critiques are made, she stressed that "if CupcakKe were a White woman, this convo would look different."

  • After noticing the major backlash she received, Jamil returned to Twitter to issue an apology to CupcakKe, admitting that she "reacted too quickly and thoughtlessly."

"Massive unreserved apology to @CupcakKe_rapper for putting you on blast without knowing anything about u," she wrote. "Having now learned of your personal struggles, I realize I should have done more to protect you rather than bring you stress... This goes beyond not just being so careless as to quote tweet someone whose context and life you're unaware of. But also, being extra careful to not pile on to Black women, who are already piled onto, ignored and policed the most. I hear all the criticism. I see my f**k up."
