In an exclusive interview with BET.com, Hemsworth, Henry, and Keegan-Michael Key opened up about their experience portraying these beloved characters and the central themes of Transformers ONE.

Hemsworth reflected on a key moment in the film where Optimus Prime comes to realize that hope defines him. "At the beginning of the film, Optimus isn’t exactly optimistic. He sees a different path for his life but carries some pessimism," Hemsworth explained. "However, the hope within his friendship with Megatron is something phenomenal to watch. They both have the chance to rise above their circumstances, and that sense of agency is something I can relate to."

One exciting change for fans in Transformers ONE is hearing Bumblebee speak in full sentences for the first time in recent films. Key, who voices Bumblebee, shared his excitement about giving the character his voice back. "The most thrilling part for me was portraying Bumblebee with his own voice, something we haven’t seen recently," Key said. "My original connection to him was from the 1984 cartoon where he always spoke. Having Bumblebee vocalize his emotions adds a hopeful and kindred connection with Optimus Prime, and I think fans will love seeing that return."

Henry spoke about his approach to Megatron and how he explored the villain’s complex origins. "There’s always a catalyst that drives a character to become a villain, and I wanted to dig deep into what makes Megatron who he is," Henry revealed. "I approached Megatron like any other role, aiming to find his heart and the relationships that define him."

In a surprising aside, Henry shared a fun dream role he’s been thinking about—playing Thor. While fans have speculated about his involvement in the 007 franchise, Henry told Entertainment Tonight he would love to tackle the iconic superhero role. "I would really love to play Thor," Henry laughed. "It’s something I think about all the time. The character isn’t written yet, but I’d love to inspire someone to create that role for me."

Key also took a moment to reflect on his collaboration with Jordan Peele, his longtime partner from Key & Peele. "Working with Jordan was an absolute delight. He’s such a thoughtful creator, but on set, he often surprised me with his high energy," Key recalled. "One of the most delightful things for me was seeing his unexpected comedic moments.
