Michael Jackson’s Leather Jacket Seen in 80s Pepsi Commercial Set for Auction
The iconic leather jacket Michael Jackson wore in a 1984 Pepsi commercial will be up for auction in London next month, alongside a collection of other cherished music memorabilia.
The jacket was custom-made for the “Thriller” musician for the commercial and is listed between £200,000 ($245,000) and £400,000. Fans will also be able to bid for a photo of the late King of Pop sporting the black-and-white item alongside 12-year-old Wendell Thompson.
Jackson gifted Thompson — whose father worked for Jackson as a hairdresser — the jacket in December 1983 during an Orlando trip to open the Michael Jackson room at the Hotel Royal Plaza.
