Simone Biles, Gabby Douglas Make History at the World Championships

The two gymnasts ranked first and second place.

What could be greater than Gabby Douglas and Simone Biles –– arguably the two most talented gymnasts in the world –– hugging it out after scoring historic wins for America at the World Championships in Scotland?
Douglas and Biles were understandably overcome with emotion after Biles became the first woman to win three consecutive titles and Douglas, just one step below her on the podium, became the first reigning Olympic champ to win a world medal since 1981.

GOING FOR GOLD: FAMOUS BLACK OLYMPIANS

"It’s such an honor, especially coming from the United States," said Biles, who matched Svetlana Khorkina for total all-around titles, and took home the bronze at the final vault Saturday. "We strive for greatness."

As for what the two said to each other when they stepped off the podium: "'We’re done. We’re finally done, and I love you so much and good job,'" Biles revealed.

Congratulations to Douglas and Biles for bringing home the gold.
