Actress Yvette Wilson, best known for her role as Andell Wilkerson on Brandy's Moesha, has died. She was 48 years old.

According to NewsOne.com, Wilson had recently been suffering with stage four cervical cancer, and was in desperate need of money to pay her increasing medical bills.

For the past few days former Moesha co-star Shar Jackson had been sending out tweets to ask for prayers for Wilson.
The Los Angeles native was born March 6, 1964.  She attended San Jose State University and ventured into comedy after she lost a bet and had to perform stand-up.  Yvette was bit by the comedy bug.
Her break came with the 1993 series Thea.  However, she became an American favorite when she landed the role of Andell Wilkerson on Moesha.  Wilson, who also starred in the Moesha spinoff The Parkers featuring Mo'Nique, was also a familiar face in several films of the 1990s. She appeared in popular movies such as House Party 3Don’t Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood, Friday and Poetic Justice.
A friend of Yvette Wilson, Jeffrey Pittle, told BET.com, "She was a good friend, a talented actress and a very funny lady, both on-screen and off."  Pittle added, "She will be sorely missed, but I'm sure her talent and humor will live on in her legion of fans. It's a small comfort knowing we can still experience Yvette through the work she left behind."
