Apple Music Is Officially Here
Apple Music has launched to the world today.
The company’s new on-demand streaming music service, an entire re-branding of Beats Music, is the latest competitor among other options like Spotify, Tidal, Google Play, Pandora and Rdio. To get it, you need to upgrade your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch to iOS 8.4 before you can use Apple Music. A full version of Apple Music will be available for Android users in the fall.
As promised, the service is free for three months. However, you must agree to pay $9.99 after the trial period is over. A family membership is available for up to six people for $14.99 a month. Even though it’s going to take some time to digest, there are already a lot of cool features. For example, you can ask Siri to do basic features like play popular songs by Beyoncé or Chris Brown.
Just like the other options, there’s exclusive content that’ll attract potential subscribers. Apple Music is the first service to have Taylor Swift’s 1989 and Dr. Dre’s The Chronic for streaming. By getting those big names on board, you know that’s just the beginning for Apple Music.
Besides Apple Music’s launch, Apple also premiered their 24 hour radio station, called Beats 1 Radio, that’ll include shows by Drake, Pharrell, Jaden Smith and more. There’s also celebrity shows you can look out for hosted by three DJs — Zane Lowe, Ebro Darden and Julie Adenuga.
