Xzibit Rails Against 'Planking' Craze
West coast rapper Xzibit is not jumping on the "planking" bandwagon that has swept the hip hop community in recent weeks. In fact, he's speaking out against the popular craze for its alleged racist roots.
"Planking is THE dumbest s--- ever," he said on Twitter. "Planking was a way to transport slaves on ships during the slave trade, it's not funny. Educate yourselves."
The controversial fad calls for players to lie face down with their full body flat and hands to the side in a seemingly impossible or unlikely position. The more original or difficult the location the better, and the pics must be posted on the Internet.
Although the fad is a couple years old and originated in Australia, many American celebrities, like Rosario Dawson, Justin Bieber, Wiz Khalifa, Joe Budden, Letoya Luckett and Dwight Howard, just caught on to the craze. Xzibit thinks it's trivial and just wanted to enlighten his followers. "Don't get it twisted," he said. "I care less where your dumb a--es lay face down and take pictures of the s---, I'm just telling you where it came from."
