Lil Wayne: I Want Off Cash Money
First Tyga slammed Cash Money for delaying his album release, and now Lil Wayne is following suit. Weezy blasted the imprint and his surrogate father Brian “Birdman” Williams in a series of tweets sent from his official Twiter account on Thursday (Dec. 4) claiming the label won't unleash Tha Carter V.
“To all my fans, I want u to know that my album won't and hasn't been released bekuz Baby & Cash Money Rec. refuse to release it,” tweeted the Young Money leader. ”This is not my fault. I am truly and deeply sorry to all my fans but most of all to myself and my family for putting us in this situation.”
The 32-year-old is apparently at his wits' end with the situation. “I want off this label and nothing to do with these people but unfortunately it ain't that easy. I am a prisoner and so is my creativity. Again, I am truly sorry and I don't blame ya if ya fed up with waiting 4 me & this album. But thk u.”
Pusha T even chimed in tweeting, "@LilTunechi this too shall soon pass #cometoGOODMUSICout," he also posted a snapshot of his “Exodus 23:1” lyrics, which made mention of the dubious contract the New Orleans rapper signed with Cash Money.
Wayne’s surprise announcement comes one week after he joined the Universal Zulu Nation.
