Lil Wayne and Eminem Named Gods of Rock
Rap stars are the new rock stars, according to a new cover story from GQ. For its November issue profiling the “Gods of Rock, the gentleman's magazine placed none other than Eminem and Lil Wayne on the cover along side The Rolling Stones' Keith Richards.
In the magazine, other artists cited as rock & roll's last "survivors" include The Dungeon Family, Raekwon, The Black Keys, Erykah Badu, Lee "Scratch" Perry, TV On The Radio and more.
A new profile of one of the artists will be made available on GQ.com everyday until November 17. In Eminem's interview he opens up about his battle with addiction, admitting that he made his fourth album, Encore, while taking between sixty and ninety pills a day.
"Five or six songs leaked from the original version of Encore, so I had to go in and make new songs to replace them," he says. "In my head I was pissed off: 'Oh well. Songs leaked. F*** it. I'm just going to take a bunch of f***ing pills and go in there and have a party with myself.' I'm sure the more pills I took, the goofier I got."
