Kareem “Biggs” Burke Pleads Guilty to Marijuana Distribution Charges

Roc-A-Fella Records co-founder, Kareem "Biggs" Burke, is facing a 5-year sentence.

Kareem "Biggs" Burke, famous for co-founding Roc-A-Fella Records with Jay-Z and Dame Dash, pleaded guilty in court Thursday to conspiracy to distribute more than 100 kilograms of marijuana. He now faces five years or more in prison.
Biggs was arrested in a massive DEA drug sting in late 2010 that brought down three separate marijuana syndicates. As a part of his plea deal, he will be required to forfeit his $600,000 house in New Jersey, his 2010 BMW and 15,000 in cash that was found in his home, according to Courthouse News.

Prosecutors reportedly nailed Burke with a wiretap recording that features him discussing "grow houses" with other members of the syndicate.

During the late '90s to early 2000s, Burke was the silent third owner of the powerhouse hip hop label. The New York native usually worked behind the scenes as Jay and Dame became the faces of the Roc. Along with Dash, Burke sold his stake in the label in 2005 to Def Jam Records.
