Unsurprisingly, even a year after her hit album, RENAISSANCE, was released, it’s most likely still on repeat in households worldwide. Queen Bey is receiving the accolades she deserves after receiving the BET HER award for her chart-topping song, “Break My Soul,” at the BET AWARDS 2023.

On June 25, Cynthia Kaye McWilliams and Malcolm Barrett, BET+'s Average Joe series stars, presented Beyoncé with the award. Beyoncé, currently on her RENAISSANCE World Tour, wasn’t present at the ceremony.

It is no coincidence that Bey has become renowned worldwide with a career spanning more than two decades. From her start in the wildly successful R&B group Destiny’s Child to her influential career as a solo artist, Beyoncé is by far one of the most popular performers of our time.

The Houston native is among the few artists to have every album reach #1 on the Billboard 200 charts. When “Break My Soul” was released in 2022, it quickly became the song of the summer, later receiving a Grammy nomination for "Record of the Year," "Song of The Year" and winning  "Best Dance/Electronic Recording," at the 65th Annual Grammy Awards.

“Break My Soul” is more than a catchy house music record. It paid homage to the queen of Bounce Big Freedia and sent a powerful message to release the stresses of work and life.

“Break My Soul” isn’t the only song from the record to hit the Billboard Hot 100 charts. According to Billboard, all 16 tracks made it to the Billboard charts. Not surprisingly, Beyoncé dominated the charts in 2022, with RENAISSANCE scoring the second-largest weekly total for an album that year.

Beyoncé is living proof that she is a woman who will continue to break records and dominate the music industry for years to come.
