Killer Mike Will Not Face Charges Over Grammy Arrest

“Mr. Render has successfully completed the Office’s Hearing process, including a community service requirement that was imposed,” a spokesperson for L.A. City Attorney’s Office said.

On Wednesday (June 26), TMZ exclusively reported that Killer Mike, whose real name is Michael Santiago Render, will not face any charges for his arrest at the Grammy Awards.

“Mr. Render has successfully completed the Office’s Hearing process, including a community service requirement that was imposed. We have no further comment at this time,” Ivor Pine, a spokesperson for the L.A. City Attorney’s Office said in a statement.

In February, Killer Mike won three awards at the 2024 Grammys – Best Rap Song, Best Rap Performance, and Best Rap Album for Michael – but his celebration was interrupted following a scuffle with a security guard outside of Crypto.com Arena.

Two days after the incident, the Atlanta native released a statement. “As you can imagine, there was a lot going and there was some confusion around which door my team and I should enter. We experienced an over-zealous security guard, but my team and I have the upmost confidence that I will ultimately be cleared of all wrongdoing,” he said.
