Mariah Carey and Brett Ratner Are Just 'Best Friends'
Now that Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon have filed for divorce, the speculation of who will be the next man in her life is in overdrive. The latest to be linked to the pop superstar is director Brett Ratner, who was spotted with Carey as they spent their birthday weekends together, reports People.
The "Obsessed" singer celebrated her birthday — or her "anniversary," as she calls it — on Friday, March 27, with Ratner's falling just one day after. The friends raised a few eyebrows when they were spotted celebrating, but publicly displaying their close friendship to the world is nothing new.
"Hanging out in the girls room with @brettrat," Carey captioned an Instagram photo of the pair cozied up together three weeks ago.
On March 24, Ratner also shared a photo on the 'Gram with him, Carey and Courtney Love. "I love these ladies @mariahcarey and @courtneylove!," he captioned the snap.
Ratner and Carey have a long, but strictly platonic history together, with the famous director being at the helm of several of the singer's biggest music videos, including "Touch My Body," "We Belong Together" and "Heartbreaker."
Ratner's rep denied the reports of them dating, calling them "ridiculous" and adding, "They have been best friends for a very long time." TMZ snapped a photo of Ratner kissing another woman, so the rumors of Carey and Ratner being a couple are probably untrue.
