Mila J: I've Been Recording Like Crazy
Mila J is focused on getting her album out “before the summer” and not much else, the singer admits. In an exclusive interview with BET.com, the L.A.-bred songstress, who was on the bill for Power 106’s Valentine’s Crush last Friday (Feb. 13), gave us an idea of how hard she’s been working on the untitled debut.
“I’ve just been recording like crazy, trying to narrow down which songs I’m actually going to keep,” she says. “I’ve recorded probably close to 40 songs, so it’s just exciting now just to pick which ones we’re gonna pick.”
Getting in the zone included a “holiday hiatus” from social media, especially Instagram. “I kinda went on, like, a phone cleanse. I was like, ‘I’m on Instagram too much, I’m on all that too much.'”
Even though she’s “back on” social media, one thing that her 672,000 followers didn’t see was a Valentine’s Day post. Despite being linked to Trey Songz recently, there was no Valentine this time around. She spent the day working instead. “I’m grinding,” says Mila. “Maybe next year I’ll get to be on an island somewhere!”
