Chicago Bulls Andre Drummond Is Showing Off His Cologne Game With His Scentbird Collaboration
We love a man who smells good and Andre Drummond knows that.
The Chicago Bulls center has teamed up with Scentbird, a fragrance subscription that simplifies, tailors, and conveniently delivers your chosen scents directly to your door. He created a collection of his favorite colognes and spoke with PEOPLE about his unique fragrance habits.
Drummond told People "I wear cologne for different occasions — when I'm walking onto the [basketball] court or I'm just going to downstairs to get my mail. I really believe in that moment of walking by somebody and having them say, 'Wow, you smell really good.' It's a scent memory any time anyone sees me, because I smelled good. I want people to remember me."
For this fragrance connoisseur, it was all about bringing his love and knowledge of fine fragrances to consumers.
“I'm really big on smells — in my house, in my car or for myself. I just love a good scent and Scentbird gives you a variety of scents to choose from, so the partnership was a no-brainer,” Drummond said.
The basketball player drew on his favorite scents and brands that he uses to create his list, which includes Versace, Chris Collins, and others. He has a special memory associated with Versace that makes it a brand he always keeps in rotation.
He shared, “I wore [Versace] for my draft. Anytime I smell Versace, I always get that feeling of walking across that stage and shaking [former NBA commissioner] David Stern's hand and becoming an NBA player.” This momentous occasion was when he was selected in the first round by the Detroit Pistons.
When he came into the NBA at 18 years old, he recalls walking through the locker rooms and seeing different colognes he’d never seen before as a kid. “I've always loved smelling good. So when I would see some of these guys spray different colognes after practice, I would take pictures of them and go get them.”
Drummond hopes to one day create his own scent collection, whether it's candles, colognes, or incense.
