Billy Porter’s Role In The Upcoming ‘Re-Imagining’ Of Disney’s ‘Cinderella’ Is Absolutely Perfect
Billy Porter is about to make history once again. Following his Emmy win in September, the Pose star has confirmed that he will star in James Corden's musical live-action remake of Cinderella, and the role he's been tapped to play couldn't be more perfect.
According to E! Online, Porter made the announcement on The New Yorker's Instagram Stories, saying, "I have a couple movies that I'm working on. I'm gonna be playing the fairy godmother in the new Cinderella movie with Camilla Cabello."
Porter and the 22-year-old singer are currently the only two actors officially attached to the Disney remake, which is being described as a "modern re-imagining of the classic fairytale." According to Deadline, Frozen star Idina Menzel is in talks to join the cast as Evelyn, the evil stepmother.
He has yet to share the news of his casting with his own social media followers, but it's likely that a major announcement will soon come.
Talk about spot-on casting!
