The Internet Collectively Drags Dave East For Missing His Show In Chicago
Dave East found himself in hot water with his fans after he was allegedly a no-show for a scheduled meet and greet at a local Chicago radio station.
But, if you ask the Harlemite, he had no idea that the event was even set to take place.
According to radio personality Kendra G., the Paranoia rapper was scheduled to be interviewed on WGCI's Chicago Morning Takeover show on Thursday (Oct. 19) as well as perform later that evening. However, Dave failed to appear on both occasions, with him claiming to not have been informed of the scheduled appearances.
But once social media caught wind of the fiasco, the internet mercilessly read the rapper for filth. Many of Dave's fans felt he was being inconsiderate as well as dishonest in his explanation of why he was AWOL.
But the ordeal didn't end without the rapper taking a moment to clarify the situation in a series of tweets. "I love Chicago," Dave wrote. "Always have always will. People saying ima [sic] be places I never was even booked for. I wouldn't be s**t if it wasn't for support." The rapper continued to explain his side of the story, even offering to organize a free performance and refund a fan who opted out of work to attend the scheduled listening party.
